Cool Kicks Art II students began the year by getting back into observational drawing. This is an essential skill for art. Students took off their shoes and used them as their subject. We began by looking for the big shapes that the shoes were made of, followed by the challenge of the details. We also worked on sight measuring, drawing lightly and being patient and positive with ourselves.

On June 12, 2023, Holy Family Healthcare, Flood's Vision Center, and WPS Migrant Department teamed up to sponsor a Health Clinic. Students (and some adults) received physical, optical, and dental exams. Those who participated received home supplies, a health kit, and a book bundle. All ate healthy food at the clinic's cafe. WPS students - Ari Jimenez-Ramirez, Ana Aguilera-Gallegos, Judith Aguilera-Gallegos, and Karla Cervantes - helped translate, organize, and distribute the free gifts!
