VARSITY SOCCER
Varsity Soccer falls to Black River
Wednesday, April 24, 2024 @ Black River High School
Game Recap
The Girl's Varsity team traveled away to Holland Black River on a chilly Wednesday afternoon. The team was looking to bounce back after Monday's performance. After a quick goal from the home side. The team quickly responded and held their own against a very tall and aggressive Black River team and managed to go into the half 1-0 down.
Starting the second-half, the team struggled right off whistle and Black River took advantage again. However, the team didn't give up and continued to play with grit. Riley Preston and Ella Isbrecht played a huge part in defending the crosses and stopping the offensive runs that Black River created. Chelsea Lange had another afternoon with many great saves, recording 19 throughout the game.
Depsite the tough loss, the team continues to improve and show determination to compete.
The team will travel away to Bridgman next Monday.

Throughout the years, the ceramic creatures project has grown to be a cherished tradition for first-year art students. It begins with an exploration of clay hand-building techniques, from pinch pots to coil building. Next students design and draw their creature.
The assignment requires facial features, carved and added areas, and a minimum of two extremities. Some of the creatures turned out beastly, while others look fine and sweet. Over the course of six weeks, this project fosters collaboration, problem-solving, creativity, and a considerable amount of patience.

WHS is getting ready! Check out this week's newsletter for details!

CONGRATULATIONS LAUREN LOVELL!
