Good Morning Watervliet High School Panthers! Today is TUESDAY OCTOBER 24th. My name is Abby Lomoro and I am your TUESDAY morning announcements reader. Morgan Lowell finished 9th overall in a field of 154 runners lowering her PR to 20:34. Kimmy Romero earned a medal as well getting 28th in a time of 22:02. Mimi Feneley, Marissa Lowell, Johanna Granados, Hailey Adams, McKenna Kirksey, Abbie Hayes, Amara Olexa, and Hanna Lomoro all ran their fastest races of the season. The Panthers capped a great couple weeks of training with their best team performance of the season running through cold rain and mud at the Comet Invitational in Kalamazoo. Danny Mandujano finished 3rd in a field of 169 runners lowering his PR to 16:28. The next two Panthers across the finish line also set new PRs as Luke Isbrecht finished in 19:21 and Zeke Cardozo finished in 19:56. Alex Sexton ran a season best 20:30 while Devin Geisler was close behind with a PR of 20:35. Grayson Richards was right on the heels of Devin posting a season best 20:38. SENIORS: Sign-up for the Senior Trip is in Mrs. Tyler’s office. Sign-up and $40 can be turned into Mrs. Tyler and are due by November 3rd. First 50 people to sign-up are guaranteed a ticket/seat! Today’s lunch is: Turkey, Cheese, & Crackers -orTasty Turkey Submarine Bag of Baby Carrots Fresh Michigan Apple & Choice of Milk Tomorrow’s breakfast is Blueberry Breakfast Parfait Granola Sliced Apples & Choice of Milk Happy birthday today to Riley Preston and Lucas Isbrecht! Watervliet hosted Parchment on this rainy Varsity Football Senior Night and came away with a big 31-14 Win. Defensively the Panthers were stingy - Forcing 2 Fumbles and getting a Pick 6 from Joe Coulombe to end the scoring. Coulombe along with Owen Epple, Carson Underwood, Gabe Meachum and Dee White played very well at linebacker and kept the Parchment run game bottled up. The big boys up front held their own as well (Zach Rader, Josh Sturdevant, Reise Bulat and Mike Melcher) Panther volleyball traveled to St Joe High School to start play at 8:30am, Saturday morning. It was competitive day, a day of growth and a day of playing smart. The Lady Panthers have been putting in the work and their commitment to each other is paying off! The Panthers had three players with over 20 kills, five players with over 25 digs, four players with at least 5 aces and 4 players with over 4 blocks. Grace Chisek led with 92 assist. Panthers ended the day as undefeated tournament champions for the second year in a row. Last night in Three Rivers, the Watervliet Panthers fell to the Hartford Huskies 8-0 in the Soccer District Semi-Finals. The loss ended their season at 4-10-3. The Panthers played with heart and toughness but it just wasn't enough against the #3 ranked team in the state. It’s time for another dual enrollment grade check in. Join us to learn more about finding the right college match for your child, how to apply, how to locate scholarships and MORE! It's never too early to start planning. COLLEGE GEAR MONDAY! All students and staff are encouraged to wear either MSU or U of M gear for a building wide competition as we continue to celebrate College Application Month! Which college will have more? Plan on a big group picture in your gear at 8:05 AM on Monday morning !

Watervliet Public Schools apologizes for the errant robo-calls late last evening. This was not a result of WPS error, but rather a technical glitch from our vendor. We alerted the vendor of the issue when they opened this morning. They made the fix, stress-tested their systems, and have assured us that this error will not happen again. Additionally, you will see a Watervliet Schools' phone number on future automated calls, not an Arkansas or Virginia number. Again, we are sorry for the inconvenience and our provider has assured us it will not happen again.

Good Morning Watervliet High School Panthers! Today is WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 11th. My name is ELla Harris and I am your Wednesday morning announcement reader. Watervliet Public Schools will be a premier district that challenges and empowers students and staff to achieve beyond their own expectations. Today’s lunch is: Crispitos Garden Salsa Light Sour Cream Refried Bean Dip Michigan Peaches & Choice of Milk Tomorrow’s breakfast is Mini Cinni's Cinnamon Rolls Honey Turkey Snack Stick Grapefruit Cup & Choice of Milk Congratulations Watervliet Varsity Volleyball as they celebrate their Seniors for Senior Night and completed the night winning the Lakeshore Division title. Tonight the Panthers celebrated seniors, Tia Caldwell, Grace Chisek, Natalie Hart, Abby Whorton, Lauren Laws, Anya Sexton, Ellie Golden, Anslie Saylor and Marleigh Schultz. This group of nine seniors have done a great job representing their school and the Watervliet Volleyball program. Our seniors still have a lot of season left and will truly be missed. But today the nine seniors and five juniors swept Coloma in three straight games. In game one and two the Panthers pushed every point keeping and controlling the momentum. In game three Coloma took an early lead but the Panthers kept chipping away tieing the game 16-16 and then taking the lead and keeping it till the match was won. Panthers finished the regular conference season as Back('21) to Back('22) to Back('23) Undefeated Lakeshore Division Champions! Congratulations to the WHS Marching Band who earned a division 1 rating yesterday at the district marching band festival. If anyone is interested in tutoring math, please let Mrs. Dawson know. On Wednesday, October 11th, WHS will host our annual Xello Parent Informational Night at 6 PM in the high school media center. All high school parents are invited to join us to learn more about what Xello can do for your child. Xello puts your student at the center of their post secondary planning experience. Students document their journey as they build self-knowledge, explore post-secondary options, create plans, and continually reassess as they take in new knowledge, skills, and experiences.
