On Thursday, March 14- Watervliet Middle School participated in the annual Pi Day celebrations! They were challenged to learn as many digits of pi as they could and each class battled against each other with who would know the most! This year, Daniella Romero-Chairez won the grand prize for memorizing 129 digits of pi! Cadia Rains, Braelyn Campbell and Isabella Alvardo all won in each of their classes. We also celebrated Albert Einstein's birthday by participating in one of his favorite activities to relieve stress- building towers from playing cards.

Kindness Act...Candace Zyla, a 6th grader and member of the student council, wrote notes of inspiration for all of the students at Watervliet Middle School! She came in on Sunday, and taped the notes on their lockers, so her classmates could be surprised on Monday with words of kindness! Way to help us start the Monday out right Rachel!

This weekend we had a great turnout for the talent show. New categories like poetry and art expanded the show as well.
We had really tight competition in some of the categories, especially High School vocals, where the favorite won by a single point, and the second place had a 3-way tie!
Here are the most favorite from each of the categories:
From the Middle School:
Favorite Artist: Brooklyn Smith for her piece 'Naomi"
Favorite Poet: Zaylea Pates for her poem "Vanilla Scented Candle"
Favorite MS Vocals: Anahi Howell who sang "What Was I Made For"
From the High School:
Favorite Vocals: Nataliya Desjardin who sang and played piano to "It Will Rain"
Favorite Artist: Sienna Harris for her piece "Oreo and Stormy"
Favorite in Show was a tie between Ella's Harris And Lauren Lovell.
Thanks to Brittany Morsaw for the cast picture!
