Principal Wheeler serving lunch to a student

At WPS we like to have a little fun with our learning, and that was quite evident recently at South Elementary School. Hundreds of frogs were scattered throughout the building for staff to collect on February 29th. Principal Sherry Wheeler agreed to cover a special break time for the teacher or staff member who ended up with the most frogs at the end of Leap Day.

There MAY have been a bit of conspiring behind the fact that the Kitchen staff ended up with 207 frogs at the end of Leap Day - far more than enough for the win! So yesterday the kitchen staff got a little help as Mrs. Wheeler took a turn working in the Nutrition Services department. Because Grounds and Maintenance employee Steve Wooley was suspected of having had a hand in helping the kitchen staff win the contest, Mrs. Wheeler recruited him to help her serve lunch and wash dishes.

The kids loved seeing their principal and Mr. Wooley working in the kitchen and lunch room, the kitchen staff appreciated the extra help, and Mrs. Wheeler and Mr. Wooley had fun too.
