Bill Spaulding, Sandy Spaulding, and Ric Seager in the Media Center

At the Watervliet Public Schools Board of Education meeting last evening, there was one item of business that was a little bit bittersweet -- bidding farewell and fond wishes for a happy retirement to longtime paraprofessional Sandy Spaulding.

Sandy has worked in the district since 1998 and her time here has impacted hundreds of children's lives.   Both High School Principal Christina Powers and Board President Bill Spaulding (who is also Sandy's husband) emphasized that it was the relationships Sandy built with the students she worked with and how much she genuinely cared for them and wanted them to succeed that made her such an asset to our district.

Sandy's absence is definitely felt in the high school building where she had worked and where she is missed by both staff and students.  We wish you much joy in your retirement, Sandy.
