Today, May 8, 2025, we experienced a malfunction of our duress system, leading to several lockdown alert initiations within a short period. These alerts were false alarms. Our Technology Services team worked with service providers to identify the bug and stabilize the system. At no time were any students or staff in peril. We are working with our partners to determine why this happened and take appropriate actions to make certain the system is functioning properly at all times. We know lockdown notifications can be unsettling for some of our students. However, as we discover any system integration problems, we are able to fix them and build a more robust security situation for our students and staff. Thanks, Ric Seager

All Watervliet WAY High School Seniors are required to put together a Career Path Portfolio and present it to a panel of WPS staff members before they graduate. Last week we had the honor of listening to these wonderful students (and a couple others who aren't pictured) talk about their academic journey and share their plans after high school. These students will be graduating this Wednesday, January 22nd! Congrats!

WPS Parents and Students: The forecast for tomorrow morning is for gusting winds and frosty wind chills. We will close schools if wind chills are sustained at -20 degrees or worse. Currently, the National Weather Service forecast is calling for wind chills near or just below 0 degrees. The weather will be cold!! Please make sure students are properly bundled up for the weather, especially those who wait at bus stops for transportation. At this time, the forecast indicates that we will attend school tomorrow. Please be on the lookout for information about school closures should conditions worsen overnight and forecasts change.
