With the weather changing daily, it is important that our Little Panther's come to school prepared for anything. There is snow in the forecast this week so your child we need to bring a coat. In the past we have had students "borrow" items from the lost and found when they forget to bring warmer clothing; this will no longer be an option moving forward. Items in the lost and found have an owner that may come looking for them. We want them to be there waiting when they do. We do have a stockpile of donated items that are available to students. If you child is in need of a coat, hat, gloves, etc. please reach out to their teacher or the office and we will get them what they need.

South Elementary would like to send out a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Mr. Mattson! After training for months, Mr. Mattson ran his very first marathon yesterday at the Detroit Free Press Marathon. The Marathon was 26 miles long and it took him just over 4 hours to complete! We are so proud of him and are in awe of his hard work and determination. He is a great example to all of our students and staff. His determination and commitment are great examples that when we work hard, we can accomplish our goals! Way to go Mr. Mattson!!!

Watervliet Public Schools apologizes for the errant robo-calls late last evening. This was not a result of WPS error, but rather a technical glitch from our vendor. We alerted the vendor of the issue when they opened this morning. They made the fix, stress-tested their systems, and have assured us that this error will not happen again. Additionally, you will see a Watervliet Schools' phone number on future automated calls, not an Arkansas or Virginia number. Again, we are sorry for the inconvenience and our provider has assured us it will not happen again.

We are soooo excited about our final day of SPIRIT WEEK!!!! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 Tomorrow, Friday, October 6th is Spirit Day. Don't forget, to send your little panther in maroon and white! Spirit bags will also be available for $3.00. Please have the money in an envelope marked with your child's name and teacher. You can send the money in with your child so they can hand it directly to their teacher. PTO will also be serving popcorn. It is $0 .50 for the day or $4.00 for the whole year. (If you can't send this money in, don't stress about it, every child will still get popcorn.) 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 We have so many fun things planned for tomorrow. During school we have Panther Dash, popcorn, pep assembly and fun Friday. After school there is the parade (5:30pm) and the football game (7:00pm). Let's get out there and show our panther pride!
