We are excited to introduce our Freshmen Mentors for the Class of 2030! These student leaders are stepping up to welcome, support, and guide the next generation of Panthers into the building next year.
Thank you for leading by example and representing what Panther Pride is all about! 🖤❤️💛 #PantherPride #ClassOf2030 #OneTeamOneFamily

One of the most unique leadership opportunities at WHS takes place through our Student Advisory Council. During interviews for positions at the high school, students take an active role in the process by introducing themselves, asking interview questions, discussing candidate qualifications, and collaborating as a team to help provide feedback on each candidate.
Through this experience, students develop valuable communication and interviewing skills, learn how professional hiring processes work, and interact with a wide variety of people and personalities. Just as importantly, they step into true leadership roles within our building and represent our school with professionalism and pride.
This picture was taken during interviews for our Choir/Theatre position. We are incredibly proud of how well our students represented WHS!

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop! 🐾

This group will meet with the principal 2–3 times each month to provide feedback, discuss school policies, share ideas, and help make WHS even better. Students also gain a behind-the-scenes look at how schools operate and how decisions are made.
A huge thank you to this year’s SAC members for their leadership, honesty, and commitment to improving our school. I am looking forward to another great year working alongside these student leaders! 🎓🐾

We are excited to share that senior Jaylee Havenaar was selected as the winner of the competition!
Throughout the school year, our art classes worked hard to bring Jaylee’s vision to life, carefully creating the mural that will soon become a permanent part of WHS. The final step remaining is the addition of a wooden frame, which is currently being completed by the woodworking class.
Congratulations to Jaylee on leaving behind a lasting reminder of her time at Watervliet High School! We would also like to thank all of the students who submitted designs and contributed to the project, along with Mrs. Hunt for her leadership and dedication in helping bring this mural to life. It has been a wonderful example of Panther creativity, collaboration, and pride! 🐾

The Class of 2026 brought plenty of laughs, creativity, and school spirit to the building as they pulled off some fun and lighthearted pranks during their final week as Panthers. From decorating classrooms to surprising a few favorite staff members, our seniors made memories they will never forget.
Thank you to our students for keeping the fun positive, respectful, and full of Panther Pride! These moments are part of what makes senior year so special.
Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop! 💙🐾

Our Panthers did an outstanding job! 🐾 Students dressed professionally, shared their resumes, and answered a wide variety of interview questions with confidence and professionalism. Experiences like this help prepare our students to be truly workforce ready.
We are so proud of the growth, effort, and maturity our juniors demonstrated today.
Workforce Ready. Future Focused.
Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop! 💙🐾

🎓🐾 WHS PANTHERS attended the ALSAME Youth Conference at Western Michigan University Friday! 🐾🎓
Our students spent the day engaging in college readiness workshops, career exploration sessions, student and professional panels, financial aid presentations, and a large college fair featuring universities and organizations from across Michigan.
Students also had the opportunity to network with Latino professionals and college students while experiencing campus life at WMU. The conference focused on leadership, cultural identity, and helping students feel confident and prepared for their futures after high school.
We are proud of our Panthers for taking advantage of opportunities that help them explore their goals, expand their horizons, and prepare for success beyond WHS!

My favorite teacher is Mr. Adongo because he makes learning enjoyable and always takes the time to help students. His patience, kindness, and sense of humor make his classroom a positive place to be.
My favorite class is Social Studies because I enjoy learning about history, cultures, and how the world works today.
I am involved in Track and Field, which helps me stay active, build confidence, and push myself to improve every day.
In my free time, I enjoy playing video games and helping my dad with landscaping work during the summer. Landscaping has taught me responsibility and hard work.
After high school, I plan to either pursue a career in business or become a mechanic because I enjoy hands-on work and learning valuable skills for the future.
I am proud to be a Watervliet High School Panther because of the teamwork, support, and opportunities our school provides.

Every single day, the staff at Watervliet High School shows up for kids with passion, dedication, heart, and Panther Pride. From the classroom to the sidelines, from early mornings to late nights, this team goes above and beyond to support, challenge, encourage, and care for our students.
We are incredibly proud of the culture, relationships, opportunities, and energy that our staff brings to WHS each and every day. Their commitment to students and to one another is what makes this building special.
Thank you to our amazing WHS staff for all that you do for our students, families, and community.
🐾 Panther Pride!
🔥 Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop! 🔥

My favorite class has been U.S. History in Depth because of all the new information I have learned and the interesting field trips. The food projects have given me more understanding of different time periods and cultures. He is a great teacher, and I have always enjoyed learning history.
I have done volleyball and track all four years. I did cross country this fall just for fun and really liked it! Sports have always helped me stay active and meet new people.
In my free time, I like to read or hang out with my friends. Getting food or shopping is always fun. I also go on walks with my mom sometimes.
My plans after high school are to go to CMU and study biomedicine to become a PA for family care. My goal in life is to help people in any way, which is what I plan to do. I also hope to move somewhere warmer and support my family.
I’m proud to be a Panther because of all the amazing people who support students every step of the way. Whenever I needed something, Ms. Tyler was always willing to help. All the teachers try their best to support kids and push them beyond their abilities.

Linderman’s AP U.S. History class has been my favorite overall. I find the class engaging and a genuine challenge. Linderman has also taken first place as my favorite teacher. He makes class fun while still prioritizing the learning experience.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing video games, and taking care of my cats. After high school, I am going to finish my associate’s degree and then transfer to either Grand Valley or Ferris.
