Debate Day cultivates a culture of academic scholarship grounded in speaking and listening by utilizing the legislative debate format. Together, students create pathways for critical thinking, civic life, collaboration, and caring while having a lot of fun along the way. The day included a meet and greet with coaches and debaters and two breakout sessions designed to enhance their knowledge of debate before ending the day with their first West Michigan Legislative Debate League Meet.

Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Often referred to as 9/11, the events of this day in 2001 permanently altered history. Nearly 3,000 people died as the result of a group of terrorists launching coordinated attacks against the U.S. by hijacking and crashing commercial airline planes at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pa. in what became America’s most deadly terrorist attack. However, the heroism shown by both everyday citizens and first responders on 9/11 will never be forgotten. Around the country today , people will pause to remember those who lost their lives on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, and those who stepped up to help and serve vowing to "never forget." In remembrance of all those who lost their lives on September 11 2001, please share a moment of silence with me at this time.
At this time we ask you to stand. The privilege of this day was made possible by those who have fought and continue to fight for the freedoms that we enjoy. The team will look to go 2-0 in the conference as they take on Bridgman this Wednesday at home for a 5pm kickoff.

At this time we ask you to stand. The privilege of this day was made possible by those who have fought and continue to fight for the freedoms that we enjoy. Let us respect and honor their efforts by standing, placing our hands on our hearts, and reciting the pledge of allegiance. If you are wearing a hat, please remove it.
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Those are all of our announcements for today. Make it a great day or not Panthers, the choice is yours!

The Varsity Lady Panthers took on the Shamrocks of Berrien Springs yesterday and came out on top. Game one the Shamrocks came out strong in serving taking an early lead. While the Panthers struggled behind the service line and in serve receive. But the Panthers quickly turned things around in game two, three and four and won the match. Sue Weckwerth led the team in kills. Kelsie Gaston led in assists. Chelsea Lange and Sue Weckwerth led in aces. The team played tough defense and did a great job communicating during all the games.
