A gasoline pump with a special banner proclaiming "Giving to Watervliet Public Schools".

If you have visited the Shell gas station near the I-94 on-ramp in Watervliet, you may have noticed that one pump bears a special banner reading "Giving to Watervliet Public Schools".

A portion of the purchases made by consumers who use the designated pump supports Watervliet Schools.  The Giving Pump at the Shell station is specially marked with colorful signage to inspire consumers to fuel up and support the schools.

WPS is happy to report that the school system has recently received a generous donation from the Fleming Brothers Oil Company of over $1245, directly as a result of purchases made at this pump during the months of August, September, and October 2022.

President Andrew Fleming of Fleming Brothers Oil Company tells us, " We are so thankful to be a part of this initiative and pleased to announce that we will be extending this program through the end of May 2023 in all the communities which we proudly serve."  The program is a part of Fleming Brothers' Force for Good initiative to drive positive change in communities by giving back.

A big thank you to Flemming Brothers for their commitment to bettering our community and our school, and for the generous donation.

Thank you also to the community members and others who have made it a point to use The Giving Pump when filling up at the station.  Please keep it up -- we appreciate it!
