A few years ago, Community members and leaders started a Foundation to help support and supplement all students at Watervliet Public Schools. It is a 501c3 charity and is independent of the school system. The Foundations goals are to:
- Provide better resources for ALL students and teachers
- Provide better technology for All students
- Provide better experiences for ALL students
During the pandemic, the Foundation and community raised $20,000 for online hot spots to help all students in the district. This philanthropic organization is looking for more volunteers to keep the Foundation's work growing. Scheduled meetings are once a month January through May, and every other month in the summer.
The Foundation is looking for individuals to fill the following positions by January of 2022:
- Chair
- Vice-Chair
- Board of Director, Member (has voting rights)
- Committee Members
