It's the time of year when wind chills and extreme temperatures can become dangerous. We urge you to be prepared.  During times of extreme cold, adding extra layers of clothing, bundling your children up in warm gear, and keeping them inside as much as possible can help to keep them safe.

On days when wind chills approach -15, Watervliet Public Schools will issue advisories.  If wind chills approach -20, we will call school off.  Also, a reminder that if wind chills are in negative numbers we will keep students in for recess.
