Good Morning Watervliet Panthers! TODAY is Monday, AUGUST 26th, the first day if the 24-25 school year! My name is Ayana Marshall and I am your Monday morning announcement reader this year ! If you would like to make a schedule change, you must pick up a schedule change form during passing time only in the counseling office, have it signed by a parent and returned by this Thursday. Follow the schedule that you have been given until the counseling office gives you a new schedule. Students must be picked up at the end of the day on the cafe/gym side of the building. No students are allowed to be picked up by anyone in a car in the front of the building. Don't forget to grab a sack lunch on your way out of the building today. There is no school this Friday or Monday due to the Labor Day weekend. Check out the signs on the counseling office window to know what lunch you eat this year. A lunch is right after 3rd hour. C Lunch is right after 4th hour. At this time we ask you to stand. The privilege of this day was made possible by those who have fought and continue to fight for the freedoms that we enjoy. Let us respect and honor their efforts by standing, placing our hands on our hearts, and reciting the pledge of allegiance. If you are wearing a hat, please remove it. Dear Panther Family, I am so sorry to have to share with you that one of our students, Dwayne Tillman passed away yesterday.  Dwayne was a terrific person. Everyone in the building knew and liked him.  There will be support offered to students, staff, and the community for anyone wanting to come in and talk. Counselors will be available at the high school on Monday and Tuesday of this week from 12-4 in the media center. Please enter through the front doors of the building.  Arrangements for services will be shared once that information is made available.  Anyone wanting to talk who cannot come into the building, can email Ms. Powers at cpowers@watervlietps.org and she will connect you with support.
