The HS Robotics team competed in their 2nd competition this past weekend in St. Joe. Having made some adjustments to the code and robot from week 1, the team 9758 Pantron-X hit the field with much more confidence.
The competition was much more intense competing against teams that have gone to the world competitions many years in a row, Team 9758 was not intimidated. Building relationships with the other teams there proved to be healthy for their strong showing. Finishing 23rd out of 38 teams with a record of 6-6, Pantron-X was called upon for the championship match as the alliance's 3rd robot needed a replacement.
Pantron-X received the Rookie All Star award which is the highest award a rookie team can receive. This is an automatic bid to the State Competition in Saginaw in April! Team 9758 will be attending the state competition at SVSU.

CONGRATULATIONS to the February 2024 Students on the Month who were honored at a special breakfast this morning!
Maycie Medlin, MaKena Guzman, Jenna Ritter, Marissa Lowell, Lilly Summers, Clorisa Worley, Michael Melcher, and Amya Harvell.

CELEBRATE DUAL ENROLLMENT! ONE in THREE students at WHS is taking one or more college classes! Dual enrolling increases the likelihood that a student will enroll in post secondary coursework after high school. It eases the transition from high school to college. Because students are taking college courses in high school, it lessens the time that is needed on a college campus to complete a degree. Dual enrolling in high school lessens the cost of a college degree as Watervliet Public Schools assumes the cost of college courses. Dual enrollment also allows students to explore classes they might be interested in outside of the traditional high school offerings and can provide more rigorous coursework when needed. Today we CELEBRATE dual enrolled Panther--YURIA ZALCEDO SALCEDO !
