Good Morning Panthers! Today is Monday, May 19th . My name is Alyssa Brown and I am your Monday morning announcement reader. Happy birthday today to Ava Hobson, Karina Short & Mr. Andrews! Lunch today is turkey & ham subs, sliced tomato, chicken waffle, fresh salad greens, veggie dippers & kiwifruit Boys Varsity Track The distance team led by Daniel Mandujano, continues to lead the way for the Panthers. Daniel finished first in both the 1600 & 3200m runs. JD Zuniga ran his PR in the 3200 and placed 7th & Alvin Jones was 8th in the 300 hurdles and ran his PR. Zeke Cardozo-Aviles, Ayden Domingo, Landon Layer, and Cole Getz all PR'ed. Great job! The Lady Panthers ended the track season with a 10th place finish at the Regional meet in Bangor. On the hottest day of the season, the ladies remained focused & performed beyond expectations as they scored in numerous events. Scoring for the team were: Payton Yeske - High Jump & 800 Angelica Daisy - 400 Mya Hood - Discus 4x800 Team - Marissa Lowell, Payton Yeske, Kimmy Romero, Gabby Wisdom Miranda Lowell - 300 Hurdles Kimmy Romero - 3200 Boys Varsity Baseball Watervliet beat Gobles 12-0. Emmett Williams went the distance on the mound & got the win striking out 6. Hitters were :Caleb Jewell, Nate Harasewicz, Logan Eberhard, Williams, Ethan Westfall, Cayden Ryan, Brayden Symonds and Ashton Coleman. On Saturday, Boys V BB fell to Schoolcraft 5 - 1. Caleb Jewell and Cayden Ryan combined on the mound striking out 9. Hitters were Jewell and Nate Harasewicz. Panthers are now 17-5 (8-2 SAC Lakeshore) Girls Varsity soccer finished their season with a victory at home on Friday. Courtney Van Lente scored the winning goal late in the second half to give the team the 1-0 win over the Bison. The Lady Panthers travels to Bridgman on Wednesday in the 1st round of districts at 5 pm. Come out and support! Attention Seniors: if you haven’t completed your graduation half sheet forms in your English classes, please see Mrs. Richcreek in the main office. Students, please check the lost & found outside the main office. Anything left at the end of the day today will be donated. All freshmen through juniors were emailed a form to indicate their interest in participating in Student Council next year. The form must be submitted by noon today. All students were sent an email from Ms. Powers regarding the Student Advisory Council to the Principal next year which is different from Student Council. The deadline to respond to Ms. Powers is TODAY. If you have interest check your email and email her back thank you. All students have been emailed 2 new on site dual enrollment classes offered next year : A comp sci class & an esports class. Check your email if you are interested in learning more. This week teachers are reviewing hallway expectations in all 3rd hour classes if they have not already done so. This is exam week for all seniors. The schedule was emailed to all seniors. Your attendance will be counted & included up to the day before each exam in regards to 3 & a B and 5 and an A. If you miss an exam that you are expected to take, that exam grade becomes a 0. There is a PBIS meeting on Monday. It is the last one of the school year. All students are invited to join us in the media center at 3:15 pm. The PBIS team works to improve climate and culture in the building. There is another SAC meeting Wednesday for all student reps to complete the review of the student handbook. Please plan to be here. Earning PBIS tickets for showing respect, responsibility, and safety is Ava Thomas and Alexis Coburn. Please come to the office now to claim your prize. A reminder for seniors for next week–you will receive your checkout sheet either in English class or in the main office. It is due to Mrs. Richcreek this Friday by 10 am once you have all of the signatures. Seniors are NOT PERMITTED TO LEAVE CLASS DURING CLASS time to get needed signatures on the check out sheet. Once you return the form to Mrs. Richcreek, you will receive your cap and gown. Plan to board a bus to the other buildings on Friday at 10 am wearing your gown. Do not plan to wear your tassel, as they are easily lost and if you lose yours, you will nor have it for graduation. Friday is also the senior car parade @ the old mill site at 4 pm. The form must be submitted by Monday, May 19 at noon. If you are working or plan to work a summer job, you have to have a work permit signed by Ms. Powers. After you get the job, come get the work permit in the main office and Mrs. Richcreek will explain the process to you. All seniors have been sent an email about the pie in the face event this Friday.
