Good Morning Watervliet High School Panthers! Today is Thursday, August 31st. My name is Julia Pepple and I am your Thursday morning announcement reader for the 23-24 school year! Watervliet Public Schools will be a premier district that challenges and empowers students and staff to achieve beyond their own expectations. Today’s lunch is: Bosco Sticks Marinara Sauce Sweet Peppers Michigan Peaches Garden Salad Grapefruit & Choice of Milk We missed a couple of birthdays yesterday. Happy late birthday to Clorisa Worley and Yami Marin. There are no birthdays today. There is no school tomorrow or Monday due to the Labor day holiday. Any LMC dual enrollment registration paperwork must be turned in by the end of the school day TODAY. After TODAY, we cannot add or drop any LMC classes. There will be a Student Council Meeting on Tuesday, 9/5, at 7:00 am in the Media Center. Attendance is required. Schedule change request forms are available in the guidance office. No schedule changes will be made for the purpose of changing a lunch hour. Tuesday, Sept 5th is the last day to make any scheduling changes for semester 1. Students are never permitted to sit in the cafe or be in the cafe during class time. If you do not have a scheduled class because you are dual enrolled you should be sitting in the media center. If you are an afternoon tech center student, when you return to the building at the end of the day, you are required to stay in the cafe area until the bell rings at 3:10. Do not come into the halls while the rest of the building are in class. Students should continue to attend all classes in your schedule until an official change is made and you are given a new schedule by the counseling office. We start counting tardies next Tuesday. Learn where your classes are now so that you are not tardy next week. Students who drive to school must register their vehicles with the main office. If you already have a sticker, you do not need to register your vehicle again. Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 6th, all vehicles without parking permit stickers will receive citations. At this time we ask you to stand. The privilege of this day was made possible by those who have fought and continue to fight for the freedoms that we enjoy. Let us respect and honor their efforts by standing, placing our hands on our hearts and reciting the pledge of allegiance. If you are wearing a hat, please remove it. I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Those are all of our announcements for today. Make it a great day or not Panthers, the choice is yours!

Watervliet Public Schools would like to thank all of our community members who took time to vote in yesterday's election. While we are disappointed with the results, we understand that our community has spoken. In the coming weeks and months, we will deconstruct this effort, actively seek input from community members, and determine our next steps. While the needs still exist, we will work with interested and engaged people to do whatever we can to build on the successes of the past and a better future for WPS. Thanks again for being a partner in Watervliet Public Schools
