Dear Panther Nation,
We are officially in the full swing of the school year! As we wrap up the first quarter and approach the holidays, I want to thank our families for a strong start to the 2026 school year!
Please log in to Canvas to review your student’s current grades and missing assignments. We strongly encourage you to connect with your student’s teaching team if you have any questions.
October is a great time to remind students about the power of making positive choices—both in and out of the classroom. Promoting respectful communication to others and keeping hands and negative comments to themselves will help ensure your student’s success.
As mornings grow cooler and darker, please make sure your student dresses in appropriate layers. If your child walks or is picked up, remind them to stay on designated sidewalks and as always, watch for traffic in the parking lot!
Students may wear Halloween costumes to school on Friday, October 30, with the following expectations:
All costumes must comply with the school dress code.
No weapons of any kind (including fake or look-alike weapons) are permitted.
No Blood.
No Masks.
Face paint/make-up is ok but it must be applied prior to arriving at school. No applying paint or make-up on campus.
Thank you for your continued partnership, communication, and support in making Watervliet Middle School a great place to grow and learn!
Mr. Mohney, Principal
