Watervliet Public Schools

We're excited to share another update on the progress of our community-supported bond projects!
Over the past several weeks, construction on the new middle school cafeteria and WAY addition has continued to move forward. With the foundation and underground work largely completed, crews are now beginning to build the walls that will support the new addition.
If you've driven past the middle school recently, you may have noticed that the building is beginning to take shape. After months of preparation and work below ground, we're reaching a stage where progress is becoming much easier to see.
Middle School Cafeteria & WAY Addition
We've reached several more important milestones in the construction process.
Interior foundation walls are complete. Crews have finished installing the concrete block walls that provide structural support within the new addition.
Exterior wall construction is underway. The first two rows of concrete blocks have been installed around the outside of the new cafeteria addition.
The building's footprint is becoming visible. With the foundation walls taking shape, it's becoming easier to see the size and layout of the new space.
These may seem like small steps, but each one brings us closer to seeing the new addition rise above ground.
The photos included in this update show the progress being made as crews transition from foundation work to the early stages of building construction.
Looking Ahead
While construction continues on the cafeteria and WAY addition, we're also preparing for the next phases of our voter-approved bond projects.
Upcoming milestones include:
Spring 2027: Renovations to the high school girls' locker room are scheduled to begin.
Summer 2027: Construction of the elementary STEM additions is scheduled to begin, creating additional spaces to support hands-on learning opportunities for our students.
Thank You, Watervliet!
We're pleased with the progress being made and look forward to watching these projects continue to take shape throughout the school year.
Thank you to the Watervliet community for your continued support and investment in our schools. We'll continue sharing regular construction updates so you can follow the progress and see how your investment is making a difference for our students and staff.
With Panther Pride!
