Softball
The Panthers showed grit Friday night against state-ranked Division 2 Dowagiac but fell 7-0. Sophia Radar and Emma Kirksey each had a hit, while Kaylee Bartee and Ava Thomas reached base multiple times. Kirksey also battled in the circle against a strong Chieftains lineup.
The young Panthers earned their biggest win of the season in the nightcap, upsetting state-ranked Dowagiac 4-3. Mackenzie Birmele tossed a complete-game three-hitter, while Alexis Eberhard led the offense with two hits and an RBI. Rae Prestidge and Sophia Radar each added a hit and RBI, and Layla Klimkiewicz recorded her first varsity hit. The Panthers improve to 21-12 heading into Tuesday’s district matchup with Hartford in Bangor.
Baseball
Varsity Baseball finished with a loss and a tie against the Red Arrow Raiders. The Panthers dropped Game 1, 6-5, despite two doubles from Nate Harasewicz and a double by Cael Morris. Game 2 ended in a 2-2 tie due to darkness, with Nate Harasewicz adding two singles. Watervliet closes the regular season at 26-8-2, earning both the SAC Lakeshore and overall SAC championships heading into districts.

Students in PE classes, weight training or athletics are not permitted to keep a backpack in the gym locker rooms. All backpacks indeed to be in your school locker. Backpacks left in the gym locker rooms will be brought to the main office.
Attention all 9-11 graders–this year you will be expected to turn your device and charger into your 6th hour teacher before you leave for the summer. No stickers can be left on your device. If you do not have a 6th hour teacher–these items are turned into Mrs. Richcreek.
ATTENTION 9-11 graders: Starting TODAY you can earn a clean locker ticket for showing any teacher or staff member that your locker is completely empty with absolutely no stickers on the inside or the outside. Turn the ticket into the main office for a treat. One ticket per student and all faculty and staff will have these tickets to distribute.
