JV Panthers dominated Berrien Springs in a doubleheader sweep, winning 17–7 and 20–5 to improve to 10–0.

In Game 1, Watervliet exploded for eight first-inning runs and never looked back, adding nine more across the next two innings. Layla Klimkiewicz earned the win, striking out five over five innings. The Panthers totaled 11 hits, led by Brooklyn Woollett’s three-hit game. Klimkiewicz, Sophia Rader, and Olivia Lurkins each drove in two runs, while the team showed patience (8 walks) and aggressive baserunning (8 steals).

In Game 2, Watervliet scored 10 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 20–5 win. Brooklyn Woollett got the win in the circle. The Panthers racked up 11 walks and six hits in a nine-run third inning. Sophia Rader and Gianna Berry had two hits each, while Rader and Klimkiewicz drove in two runs apiece. The team added five stolen bases, with Mattie Medlin swiping three.

The Varsity Ladies jumped out to an 8–2 lead over Buchanan but fell in dramatic fashion, allowing three runs in the seventh to lose. The Panthers totaled 12 hits, led by Kate Kostrzewa and Kendal Kiefer with three each, while Emma Kirksey added two. Leila Liberto-Taylor hit a three-run home run, and Alexis Eberhard and Ava Trapp each drove in runs. Despite a strong effort, Kirksey took the loss. Watervliet drops to 10–7 and will look to rebound Tuesday.

Get ready, Panthers—our 4th Hour Baseball Challenge is starting!

Here’s how it works:

Every 4th hour class is a team, and each week is like an inning in a baseball game. Over the course of the month, your class will earn runs each week, and at the end, the class with the highest total runs will be crowned champions!

So how do you score runs?

  • If no one in your class is failing ANY class, your team earns 2 runs

  • If one or more students are failing, your team earns 1 run

  • If your entire class has no behavior referrals, that’s +1 run

  • If your class has perfect attendance, that’s another +1 run

Each week, your runs are added to the scoreboard. At the end of the month—that’s championship week—the class with the most runs wins it all!

And what’s the reward?

The winning class gets a 4th Hour Baseball Lunch with hot dogs, popcorn, slushies, nachos, peanuts, and Cracker Jacks!

This is all about teamwork, effort, attitude, and showing Panther Pride. Every student counts, and every run matters.

So come to class, stay on top of your grades, make great choices, and help your team bring home the win!

Let’s go Panthers! CAN’T STOP, WON’T STOP! 🐾

US Pledge of Allegiance

Please stand. This day was made possible by those who have fought and continue to fight for the freedoms that we enjoy. Let us honor and respect their efforts by standing, removing our hats, placing our hands on our hearts and reciting the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

Those are all of our announcements for today. Make it a great day or not, Panthers! The choice is yours.
